1. State budget at a standstill as economic uncertainty continues

Gov. Kathy Hochul and state lawmakers are at a standstill over how to spend upwards of $252 billion in a state budget that’s already over a week late.

The negotiations continue amid economic uncertainty over tariffs, and federal cuts aimed at city and state programs.

2. Department of Homeland Security revokes student visas at CUNY and Fordham, schools say

The Department of Homeland Security has revoked student visas at CUNY and Fordham University, officials from those schools said Wednesday.

CUNY said Wednesday that 17 international students had “a change in visa status.”

In a statement, a CUNY spokesperson said they are offering those students guidance and assistance.

3. Hudson Yards casino moves forward as deadline nears

It’s a win for Hudson Yards.

The City Planning Commission approved new zoning for a sprawling casino project on the western rail yards in Manhattan on Wednesday, paving the way for the project to inch forward.

The zoning must still be approved by the City Council and the project must win one of three new state casino licenses after that.
