1. Adams administration permits ICE to establish Rikers Island office

Mayor Eric Adams is allowing federal immigration authorities to establish an office at Rikers Island, following through on a promise he made during recent meetings with “border czar” Tom Homan.

The move comes several weeks after Adams appeared alongside Homan on Fox News, where Homan joked he would put pressure on the mayor if he failed to act.

2. Mayor points to faith as he bounces back from legal case

Mayor Eric Adams was wearing his faith on his short sleeves Tuesday as he faced reporters for his weekly question-and-answer session.

“This outfit is not campaigning. This outfit is my life, in God we trust. I went through hell for 15 months and all I had was God," he said. 

3. Mount Sinai Beth Israel begins closing after appeals court ruling

Mount Sinai Beth Israel began closing its doors Tuesday after a New York appeals court rejected a community group’s bid to keep the hospital open. 

The ruling, handed down by the Appellate Division of the state Supreme Court, comes more than two years after Mount Sinai first announced its plans to shutter the East Village hospital.
