1. More Than $4 Billion for MTA Included in COVID-19 Stimulus Deal, Schumer Says
The stimulus agreement reached in Congress on Sunday will have numerous positive impacts on the city. Among them: funding to help the MTA avoid the "doomsday" cuts it floated earlier this year, and putting $600 directly into the pockets of many New Yorkers.
2. Cuomo Urges Testing of UK Travelers for New COVID-19 Variant
A mutation has led to a new strain of COVID-19 that is spreading in the United Kingdom, and Governor Andrew Cuomo is calling for federal officials to test travelers from the UK flying into New York City for that new strain. The governor said there are six flights from the UK into John F. Kennedy International Airport daily.
3. Delivery Workers Help New York Keep Running Despite Pandemic, Struggles
During the pandemic, delivery workers have been continuously working to get New Yorkers their meals, and interacting with so many people during the pandemic makes them extra vulnerable to the coronavirus.
