When people ask New York Assemblymember Latrice Walker (D-55) where she's from, she doesn't say Brooklyn: "I say Brownsville."
In her Know Your Electeds interview, Walker talks about how growing up in public housing inspired her to become a lawyer, run for office, and advocate for her communities. "I recognized that if I didn't run for office...I'd never be able to live with myself."
Walker has represented New York's 55th assembly district since 2015. If given an extra hour of free time, Walker would use it to roller skate.
