New Yorkers will elect a new mayor later this year, but longstanding issues such as poverty, homelessness, and drug abuse will linger. With this in mind, the progressive organization Vocal-NY has put forward a framework of priorities that they want the city’s new mayor to address. Jawanza Williams, director of organizing at Vocal-NY, joined political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” to discuss how the next mayor should handle problems within the city that have existed since before the pandemic.
