The NYPD is feeling the impact of the coronavirus, with numerous employees either showing symptoms or calling out sick.
The department says more than 2,400 NYPD employees called out sick Monday.
That number accounts for 6.6 percent of the uniformed workforce, and is more than double the typical daily average.
One hundred officers have also tested positive for the coronavirus, along with 29 other staff members.
The NYPD says the absences have had a minimal impact on keeping the city safe.
It says it is helping protect officers by providing them with gloves, masks, alcohol wipes and hand sanitizer.
