A new report finds the city is missing out on a major opportunity to generate funding for city parks and to improve the experience for those who visit them.

The report, called Expanding Concession Opportunities in New York City’s Parks & Open Spaces, is from the think tank Center for an Urban Future.

It shows that by expanding high-quality food, beverage and recreational concessions throughout the park system, the city could generate tens of millions of dollars in revenue to support park operations.

Jonathan Bowles, executive director of the Center for an Urban Future, joined "Weekends On 1" Saturday to talk about the report and its recommendations.
