The annual Christmas Bird Count that began in 1900 will return to the city on Sunday morning.

Bird lovers will head to Central Park and other parts of the city to gather data to be used by scientists and others who study birds and migration.

Jessica Wilson, executive director of NYC Bird Alliance, joined NY1 to say they expect more than 600 volunteers to take part in the count. Wilson says the data they collect will be shared National Audubon Society.
