A city nonprofit that fights hunger hit a major milestone.
This past week, Citymeals On Wheels delivered its 70 millionth meal. The group has been serving homebound older New Yorkers in need since 1981, by delivering weekend, holiday and emergency meals.
The organization also provides support through special initiatives, training and advocacy work.
The group has a goal to end hunger among older New Yorkers by 2040.
