ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Police say a meth lab explosion caused a house fire in Elmira.
Crews were called to a home on the 600 of West Water Street early Sunday morning.
Officials say flames were coming out of windows on the third floor when they arrived, but firefighters were able to keep the fire contained.
Five people got out safely and no one was hurt.
Elmira police were assisted by the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team.
