The New York State Zoo at Thompson Park is opening for the season on April 1, 2017. The Zoo will be open daily from 10am to 5pm for general admission, education programs, field trips, birthday parties, and tours.
The Zoo’s Director, Lesley Clark, is “thrilled to swing wide our gates and open our doors to the community. We have amazing opportunities and activities on the schedule for the 2017 season, from daily interactions with our keepers to animal awareness days to special events.”
To kick off the season, Zoo staff are asking all who visit to cast a ballot to name two male Canada Lynx kittens, born on May 4, 2016. Voting ends on April 30, 2017, with the name reveals on May 6, 2017, during a birthday celebration for the boys.
To kick off the season, Zoo staff are asking all who visit to assist in naming the two male kittens. “The two male kittens on exhibit need a name and we need the community’s help. Staff have four suggestions and we are asking our community to determine the final two names.” said Lesley Clark, Zoo Director. To vote, please visit the Zoo and complete your ballot at the front desk. Voting ends on April 30th. The names of the kittens will premiere on May 6th during a birthday celebration for the boys.
