TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County School Board is holding a bargaining session Wednesday with county’s classroom teacher’s association.
The two sides are negotiating pay for educational support professionals. ESPs include a number of support jobs, including school nurses, bus attendants and classroom aides.

Wednesday’s meeting comes I the midst of a broader conversation about teacher pay throughout the county.
Teacher’s Association President Rob Kriete addressed the school board during a meeting on Tuesday.
"We are cautiously optimistic about hearing about the budget from Tallahassee before we get into dollars for our instructional units as well as our ESPs,” he said. “And we're hoping we can do so efficiently and quickly to get as much money as we can get to our employees that we know are doing such a great job.”
