On Staten Island a story that will warm your heart. A young girl spent her time in the hospital in style thanks to some thoughtful nurses.

Seven year old, Arianna Shearin, has been recovering from second and third degree burns on her arm and legs at Staten Island University Hospital. Nurses in the burn unit noticed that Arianna was sad, because she couldn't wear t-shirts her mother brought for her. So, the team stepped in to turn the shirts into a variety of tasseled gowns in a rainbow of colors.

The girl's mom, Ruth Concepcion, says it was the boost her daughter was looking for. "It's like a lift to her spirit. You know how women say my hair define me, so, the shirts define her today."

Officials at the hospital say Arianna was so happy to get the gowns, now she wants to be a nurse so she can help other kids.
