A new ice cream shop has opened on Staten Island and just in time for spring.
The Richmond County Creamery officially opened its doors on Forest Avenue in West Brighton on Saturday.
The business offers locally sourced ice creams in a variety of custom flavors like "Cookie Monster Crunch" and "Holy Cow".
The menu includes milk shakes, egg creams and jumbo ice cream sandwiches.
"We wanted a lot of unique flavors, different consistencies, it seem to be that everybody was using the same styled ice cream. So, we wanted something that was a little thicker, a little creamier, a little more passion to the ice cream. Almost like micro-brews," said Peter DiMarzio, the owner of Richmond County Creamery.
The shop also offers some Staten Island themed treats like "The Ferry Boat" and "The Dump" which feeds a group of up to 20 people.
