Shoppers finally check out some of the new additions to the Staten Island mall.

After more than two years of construction, the new wing of the mall opened to the public Thursday.

The upgrades expected in the coming year include a movie theater and a new food court.

Staten Island Residents we spoke with were impressed with the expansion.

"I walked into here and it's really fancy. We're getting cool restaurants that we've never had before,” said one resident. “I think it's going to be really fun, give people on the Island new stuff to do," he continued.

The clothing store Zara opened Thursday.

More than 20 other stores are expected to open within the next year.
