Police say a woman involved in a car accident on Staten Island last month passed away from her injuries this week.
According to her family, she was a beloved teacher and principal on Staten Island.
Police say the crash happened on April 9 near Little Clove Road and Northern Blvd.
They say 83-year-old Patricia Campbell of Old Town was transported to Richmond University Medical Center after the crash and passed away on Monday.
Her son says she spent 40 years with New York City public schools, including at schools in South Beach, Great Kills and Tompkinsville, where she was a principal for 10 years.
Police say a preliminary investigation determined an 84-year-old man was driving westbound on Little Clove Road when he collided with another vehicle driving eastbound. That driver was trying to make a left turn onto Northern Blvd, according to investigators.
They say the 84-year-old man was taken to the hospital with an arm injury, and the three people in the other vehicle went to the hospital with minor injuries.
