Lisa Grey officially announced her candidacy for the civil court seat on Staten Island.
She's a former Republican commissioner for the city Board of elections and former first vice chairwoman for the Staten Island Republican Party.
Grey also served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office for seven years.
Last month, she resigned from the Board of elections to run for New york City Civil court judge.
The seat is currently held by Acting New York State Supreme Court Justice Philip Straniere. He reaches the mandatory retirement age this year.
Grey has the support of all the borough's elected Republicans including Borough President James Oddo, Assemblyman Ron Castorina and Congressman Dan Donovan.
Donovan said quote, "Lisa has proven to be a devoted public servant who has served Staten Islanders with distinction. Her integrity, intelligence and commitment to the law will make her a supreme justice."
Right now, Grey has no announced opponents.
