A Sea View-based nonprofit needs your help preparing the next generation of emergency service men and women.

Metropolitan Fire Association started an online fundraising campaign to replace its aging classroom trailer.

The disaster relief organization uses the space to conduct training sessions with kids in its "Fire Explorers" program.

The initiative equips young adults with skills in fire-fighting, first aid and emergency response.

Organizers say their classroom trailer is at least 20 years old and beyond repair.

"The roof was leaking for a while we patched that up. The walls are starting to show their age. It's starting to sag on the edges. It's just time to replace it," said Daniel Meyers of the Metropolitan Fire Association.

At last check, the group raised just over $500.
