NATIONWIDE — Blue Buffalo is recalling a some wet dog food due to a potential health risk.
The company says the recalled product is Blue Wilderness Rocky Mountain Recipe Red Meat Dinner Wet Food.
It comes in a 12.5-ounce can with the UPC Code 840243101153. The best buy date is June 7, 2019.
Blue Buffalo says the food may contain elevated levels of naturally-occurring beef thyroid hormones. Exposure can cause dogs to suffer increased thirst and urination, weight loss, increased heart rate and restlessness.
Blue Buffalo says the food was sold nationwide.
The recalled food should be thrown away or returned to the store of purchase for a refund, according to Blue Buffalo.
