AUSTIN, Texas -- A former University of Texas student suspected of sexually assaulting and killing a 22-year-old woman in 1983 has surrendered to federal authorities in Laredo.

Robert Van Wisse, a FBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive, wanted for the murder of Laurie Stout in Austin, was arrested Thursday afternoon.

Wisse was added to the FBI list this past December. Since then, multiple state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies conducted an extensive investigation and followed up on numerous leads before Van Wisse eventually turned himself in.
