A Thanksgiving tradition continues here in the borough.
Mannix Family SuperMarkets donated thousands of turkeys Tuesday to community organizations across the borough.
The nonprofits will distribute them to those in-need ahead of the holiday.
Store owner Kevin Mannix has been leading the effort for the last several years.
This time around he's giving out 200 more than usual, bringing the total to 2,600 turkeys.
"There are more needy families here on Staten Island needing turkeys for Thanksgiving so our answer was well we need to increase the amount of turkeys that we will be handing out," said ShopRite Owner Kevin Mannix.
Mannix is also teaming up with Borough Hall to distribute even more turkeys.
He expects to donate more than 3,000 before Thanksgiving rolls around.
