Some of the borough's youngest diplomats heard from a representative to the United Nations Wednesday.
United Kingdom Ambassador Matthew Rycroft paid a visit to I.S. 51.
He spoke to students in the city's Junior Ambassadors Program about his job in the U.N.
They covered topics like global warming, international security and relief efforts across the globe.
Rycroft says he hopes to inspire the next generation of civic leaders.
"I hope by discussing with them and giving them a sense that they really can do something then it will encourage more and more of them to go down that path," he said.
"We can make a change and I think that was the most helpful piece of advice he gave us," said Student Anjali Gobin.
The visit is part of an ongoing initiative through the Mayor's Office for International Affairs.
