Since the beginning of his reelection campaign, Mayor Eric Adams has insisted that he would run as a Democrat.

Now, he will no longer be included in the June primary.

Instead, the next time New Yorkers see him on the ballot will be during the general election in November.

Adams’ announcement comes as the petitioning process comes to an end. Candidates for mayor, and other offices, have until midnight to submit their signatures to make it on the June primary ballot.

Jerry Goldfeder, a veteran election attorney, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to discuss more.
