Mayor Eric Adams lost a key endorsement over the weekend after the Brooklyn Democratic Party threw its support behind former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the race for mayor.
It’s a major setback for the mayor’s reelection bid and comes after he raised only about $19,000 for his campaign since January.
State Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn joined NY1’s Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss more.
“Yeah, well as I said, this is not an anti-Eric Adams campaign. This is a pro-Cuomo for mayor campaign. I think that we all know that it’s been a little bit challenging for the mayor, given that he was charged with a meritless-based case. And, right now, our first priority was to make sure that he is good, that his livelihood is good and that the case is dismissed,” she said.
Bichotte Hermelyn represents all or parts of Flatbush, Ditmas Park and East Midwood in Brooklyn. She’s also the chair of the Brooklyn Democratic Party.
