Communities are bursting into color and life with the start of spring. It's the perfect season to plant the seeds that could grow into a lifelong love of reading.

But the sunnier skies, outdoor fun and the approaching end of the school year can be a competitor for kids' attention. That's where Western New York native John Masiulionis comes in.

He created 'Story Time with Mr. John,' which was inspired by his late grandmother and Mr. Rogers. He is now in San Diego and his story time has gone national.

Breanna Fuss sat down with John to talk about the importance of sharing the joy of reading, the benefits of story time and ways parents can help their kids spring into literacy.

John also has a new book.

You can find out more about all of this by watching Bre's interview with John.
