NATIONWIDE — "The purple one" is getting his very own shade.
Prince is being honored with a custom color.
The Prince Estate and the Pantone Color Institute teamed up to create the hue called "Love Symbol #2."

Inspiration rose from Prince's purple Yamaha piano.
The color quickly became synonymous with the late pop icon which was later cemented following his 1984 hit “Purple Rain.”
His estate says the color is a way to help Prince’s legacy live on forever.
Prince died last year following an accidental opioid overdose.
He was 57 years old.
