The M train is now out of service, and it’s disappointing news for some Queens commuters.

“It’s going to affect a lot of people. There’s not many stations around here. It’s very difficult to find good transportation around here,” commuter Valentina Guzman said.

The M runs from Middle Village to Rockefeller Center. The MTA says crews need to replace switches along the line, which will require a full shutdown.

The service suspension should last less than about a week. Some say they’ve heard this all before.

“That’s what they said last time,” commuter Robert Nova said.

The transit agency says a free M90 shuttle bus will make all stops between Metropolitan and Myrtle avenues. There, commuters can transfer to the L train for service to Manhattan.

“I went through this. It’s horrible. It’s too many people — especially at night. You’re coming back home. It’s an issue for safety for the women, for the youngest, for the oldest,” Nova said.

The service disruption means an earlier alarm for Guzman.

“I was thinking of taking a bus to the 7 train, but that’s going to take 30 minutes. And that’s going to effect me a lot, ‘cause I’ll have to wake up earlier, move everything, and make time for the bus and the train,” she said.

The suspension began at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. Service will resume at 5 a.m. Tuesday.
