Carl Paladino will not be running for governor again this year.
He previously ran against Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2010 but lost in a landslide.
Paladino most recently held a position on the Buffalo School Board before he was removed last year.
The announcement came Sunday during a state Conservative Party meeting.
He added harsh words for state Republicans, saying they're "not capable of supporting a candidate."
"We wasted four years. We should’ve been solidifying our base, expanding the base, identifying who we’re going to be in the 21st century. And, no, it didn’t happen, because everybody sits around for some kind of miracle," he said.
Former Erie County Executive Joel Giambra and Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb are the current Republican candidates running against Cuomo.
