There were two shark sightings reported in Queens Thursday afternoon, the city Parks Department said.

According to the department, a shark was spotted at Beach 86th Street around 1:30 p.m. in the Rockaways.

The department said it closed the beach to swimmers for a mile in each direction, between Beach 64th to Beach 104th streets, for approximately an hour.

A second shark sighting was reported around 2:45 p.m. at Beach 61st Street, which led to the brief closure of the beach between Beach 57th and Beach 81st streets, the department said.

The NYPD’s deputy commissioner of operations shared video of the shark on Twitter. The department itself said it will continue to monitor waters in the city for “any potential shark sightings or other concerns.”
