CLEVELAND — With Jarvis Landry missing at least the next three games, the Browns receiving corps could get a much-needed jolt in Sunday’s matchup against the Bears.

What You Need To Know

  • Odell Beckham Jr. was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice

  • He missed Weeks 1 and 2 due to a lingering knee injury

  • While Beckham’s status for Sunday is uncertain, fellow receiver Jarvis Landry will be out

  • The Browns defense will face Bears QB Justin Fields, a former Buckeye making his first NFL start

Odell Beckham Jr., who has missed the first two weeks with a lingering knee injury, was a full go in practice on Wednesday. While coach Kevin Stefanski wasn’t ready to make a definitive statement about Beckham’s status, he wouldn’t rule him out for Sunday’s matchup.

“We will see how he progresses this week,” Stefanski said.

One player for his return is quarterback Baker Mayfield.

“That is not my call to make,” Mayfield said. “Like I said before, it is whenever he is ready to roll. It is a long year, and we will be ready to have him and welcome him with open arms.”

Meanwhile, the Browns’ defense will be facing Justin Fields, who is slated to make his first NFL start on Sunday. Fields is replacing the injured Andy Dalton who got injured in the Bears’ Week 2 matchup.

“He is a really good player,” Stefanski said. “He is dynamic. He can make plays with his feet and can make plays certainly with his arm. A very productive player from college.”

Fields’ ability to use his feet to make plays could pose a challenge for the Browns’ defense.

“Rush and coverage have to work together,” Stefanski said. “We have to be sticky in coverage, and we have to be true to our rush lanes. Ultimately, when you are in a location to get a player like Justin Fields on the ground or Tyrod Taylor, you have to get him on the ground. It is really not a one-person job; it really takes all 11.”
