NEW YORK - Golden Globe winning actress Awkwafina is taking over conductor announcements on the "7" train.
The pre-recorded messages will be heard by approximately 82,000 subway riders.
In one recording she says, "Next stop is in Manhattan - so we're going under water. Hold your breath! Just kidding."
The celebrity MTA takeover is a promotion for the Queens native's upcoming show "Nora from Queens".
The sitcom is an semi-biographical look into the rapper turned actor's Queens upbringing.
Earlier this month she became the first Asian woman to win a Golden Globe for a lead acting role.
"Nora from Queens" premieres January 22 on Comedy Central.
