QUEENS, N.Y. - A Queens man is under arrest after police say he pushed his landlord to his death over the weekend.
Alex Garces, 22, is accused of shoving Edgar Moncayo, 71, down a set of steps on 102nd Street in Corona on Sunday.
Video shows Moncayo talking with his wife on the phone before Garces opens the door.
It's believed the two men got into an argument over rent.
Video shows Moncayo getting pushed from the top step.
He then fell down the stairs before hitting his head on the pavement.
Moncayo later died at the hospital.
"I can not believe somebody like that was capable of doing something like that to a human being. What kind of world are we living in. It’s so sad," said one neighbor.
"We’ve known the landlord for so many years and we just want justice for him and his family. I feel bad for his family," said another neighbor.
Garces is charged with two counts of manslaughter.
Friends say Moncayo was a family man who worked two jobs to buy the house.
He leaves behind his wife and several children.
