Colombia’s colorful national flag brightened the streets of Queens on Sunday, as locals celebrated the annual Colombian Day parade.

Residents gathered in Jackson Heights for the festivities, which included music, dancing, and parade floats. The parade is part of a celebration for the country's Independence Day, which is on July 20th. It’s become a time when city residents come together to share their love for Colombia.

“It’s wonderful, everyone gets together showing how Colombia is love, friendship and [sharing] a lot of blessings for the country and the United States,” said Patricia Diaz, a resident of Queens.

Once the parade ended, the festivities continued with a street fair.
