When it comes to the Amazon deal that went bust, restaurant owner Josh Bowen says it's not over, til it's over.
"If they love us as much as we love them, it's meant to be," Bowen said.
He traveled to Seattle earlier this week to make that pitch in person in a meeting with Amazon executives.
"They wanted to be here. I could tell by the way they were talking bout it, they understand what this city means," Bowen said.
Bowen is still outraged at the groups and local politicians who led rallies opposing the deal. He heckled Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer at an anti-Amazon demonstration earlier this month.
"They embarrassed us with their grandstanding pretending they're like the McCarthy trial or something" Bowen said.
He's now among the dozens of business, government and community leaders countering opponents like Van Bramer and Senator Mike Gianris by adding his signature to an open letter to Amazon urging the company to reconsider, touting the estimated 25,000 jobs and tax revenues the deal was expected to bring to the city.
"Our politicians are like maybe the dumbest politicians like on the planet, like I said too the first three rules of politics are jobs, jobs, and jobs," Bowen said.
