New changes are coming to Kennedy Airport when it comes to storm protocol.

One of the changes announced by the Port Authority Monday requires airlines to get permission to land at Kennedy Airport during winter storms.

The Port Authority is also outlining different requirements for the management of luggage.

It proposes a common baggage service office for all airlines.

The new rule stems from the chaos of the January snow storm.

Many planes landed even though there weren't any gates available, leaving passengers stranded on planes.

Hundreds of travelers were also separated from their luggage, not being reunited with it for several days.
