People who hate going to the dentist, or have kids who hate it, are going to love a new partnership in Queens.
NYU's College of Dentistry has expanded its mobile care program called "Smiling Faces, Going Places".
The expansion will mean that more students will get the dental screenings and treatment they need.
On Thursday, NYU Dentistry faculty and students took a trip to P.S. 134 in Hollis to begin giving the school's nearly 400 elementary school students free screenings and dental care right in the classroom.
Council Member Daneek Miller and members of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s local chapter were on hand for the launch.
NYU's dental van will be back at the school several times up through the spring.
The van has been on the road for almost 20 years and treats both kids and adults in areas where access to oral health care is poor.
