GATES, N.Y. -- Have you ever wondered when your doctor orders lab work for you where those tests are actually done?
Well, more than 15 million tests are conducted each year at the ACM Global Laboratories facility on Elmgrove Road in Gates.
Those tests are done for physicians, hospitals and other health care facilities.
Wednesday, the company celebrated renovations to it's 70,000 square foot testing facility. The upgrade came because of an increase in volume following the merger at Rochester Regional Health.
"As part of that footprint expansion, we had to modernize the lab," said Gita Ramachandran, ACM Global Laboratories President. "We took all the walls down, expanded the facility completely, and what you see right now is newly minted state-of-the-art lab."
ACM Global employs more than 400 local people at the high-tech facility.
