LANCASTER, Calif. -- Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to look to the sky this weekend as the fourth annual LA County Air Show will host a variety of performers, including the Thunderbirds and the Patriotic Parachute Team, but the entertainment won’t stop there.

“We’ve got an F35 on static which is really exciting for everybody, but what’s really creating the buzz this year is this A10 that we got coming out this year, doing a demonstration for us and it’s also going to be on static,” said LA County Air Show President, Ronda Perez.

Along with a STEM exhibit and history panels, the air show will educate and entertain at the same time, encouraging younger generations that the sky is the limit.

“That’s our main mission at the air show is to inspire the next generation. For those who want to become pilots, air traffic controllers, engineers, aerospace material designers, all kinds of things, this is absolutely the place to come and get inspired,” said Social Media Director, Jake Nelson.

The event is a year in the making. According to the men and women behind it, it’s different from any other air show because of where it takes place.

“We are at the center of the aviation universe, here in the Antelope Valley. We have all these amazing people right in our backyards and they’re coming out to the air show to share their wisdom, their knowledge, their experience of aviation,” said Nelson.

People can still buy tickets for the event at lacountyairshow.com or in person at Sierra Toyota and AV Harley Davidson. Tickets will also be sold on site on the day of the event.
