Some Queens seniors won big at Resorts World Casino, but not at the slot machnines. Their art is now hanging up in a gallery space.
The exhibit called "Life Reimagined" shows a variety of oil paintings by 14 seniors from the Pomonok Senior Center in Flushing. The pieces range from landscapes to portraits.
Artists said they want spectators to get a sense of the places they've visited and memorable moments throughout their lives.
"The picture with the kitchen. That's the kind of kitchen my grandma had. So I just made it," said artist Kulwant K. Bains.
"Some people probably never traveled before, so through the art or through the painting, they can see it," said artist Joan Cheng.
The exhibit will be on display at the Red Wall Gallery in the casino until December 31.
