The calendar may say October, but "'tis the season" for one local organization.

"We Care New York" is once again getting ready for its "Secret Sandy Claus Project."

The nonprofit has been working to help those impacted by Hurricane Sandy since the storm.

Registration for this year's drive is now open for families in need during the upcoming holiday season.

Nearly four years after the storm, the group says their job isn’t done.

"Something that people don't focus on, or big organizations don't focus on, is the kids. So we make sure that they have something for the holiday season to know that Santa can find them wherever they are. And it's not just for Christmas. We will see kids that don't do Santa Claus," said Marissa Bernowitz, who is with We Care New York.

"We Care New York" is also looking for volunteers and donations. For more information, visit www.sscpny.org.
