An art show in the borough uses street art to showcase local history.
The murals are located at The "Forbidden Fruit" Art Show which opened Saturday at Fort Tilden in Breezy Point.
The new exhibit features street art with the goal of celebrating the National Park Service's 100th anniversary.
The artists were asked to create a piece inspired by Fort Tilden's military history or plant life on the peninsula.
"I think our youth needs to know this. I think, I think we lose a lot of our history sometimes because we're so focused on the today and tomorrow that we forget what was here before we were," said artist Carlos "See TF" Game.
"We wanted to do this as a way to tell a story and have them use their talents to tell a story about natural history and the resilience of Jamaica Bay," said Charles Markis with National Park Service.
The show runs through Labor Day weekend.
