A new study ranks Astoria as one of the city's most gentrified neighborhoods.

"The State of New York City’s Housing and Neighborhoods" report is published each year by the NYU Furman Center. The 2015 report came out Monday.

It puts Astoria at number 11 on its list of the city's 15 most-gentrified neighborhoods because of its rapid changes in housing cost, affordability and resident characteristics.

Since 1990, Astoria has seen an almost 28 percent increase in rent prices.

The study also says the neighborhood has become younger, more educated, and more weighted towards non-family households since 1990.

The study defined gentrification as rapid growth in low-income neighborhoods. Astoria was the only Queens neighborhood that made the list. Williamsburg/Greenpoint Brooklyn ranked number one.
