Christmas came early for dozens of local children on Monday, thanks to a statewide toy drive.
Kids' eyes lit up when they saw the tables of toys available at the Child Center of New York in Corona.
Elected officials helped pre-school age children pick out toy cars and dolls from the tables to take home.
Governor Cuomo's annual toy giveaway provided thousands of toys to needy children.
"It's a tremendous feeling when you see the smiles on their faces and how happy they are and you also understand that they're not getting too many toys because of their circumstances, so it really does make a difference," said NY Secretary of State Cesar Perales.
Elected officials say the price of admission at some of the Governor’s recent events was used to purchase toys for the drive.
