The MTA’s new Q44 Select Bus Service (SBS) launched Sunday.

The MTA says riders of the Q44 can now expect to have a quicker and shorter bus ride.

The bus route connects Downtown Flushing, Jamaica and the Bronx.

Riders pay the fare before getting on the bus, shortening boarding time.

The bus will only travel on bus only lanes in congested areas and have priority at certain traffic signals.

Riders NY1 spoke with say it makes it easier to get around a borough that mostly depends on buses.

"Queens is really full of buses and stuff. There's no trains around, so it helps make it fast and convenient for people to get to work and stuff," said one rider on Sunday.

"It's within easy access, you know, to my work, and I get to and from it quite easily," said another bus rider.

The bus runs through severely congested streets such as Main Street, Hillside Boulevard, Sutphin Boulevard, and Archer Avenue.
