City parks will be ready for spring thanks to a greenhouse in Queens.
More than a hundred thousand plants are grown at the Forest Park Greenhouse.
They will be laid down at gardens in parks and greenspaces across the city this spring.
The space is also open for tours, and can be the perfect cure for the late-winter blues.
"We start the plants in December, and we grow them through January, February, March and April, and it's always warm in here even if it's snowing outside," said Queens Director of Horticulture Adriana Jacykewycz.
"These plants will be not only in neighborhood parks and large parks, but also the small triangles that we have across the city, our greenstreets, we'll be greening up the city, so New Yorkers will have a wonderful spring experience," said Queens Parks Commisisoner Dorothy Lewandowski.
