A Georgia grand jury on Tuesday accused former President Donald Trump and 18 of his top allies of creating a "criminal enterprise" to overturn the state's 2020 presidential election results, according to an indictment unsealed Monday night.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis opened her investigation into Trump over two years ago. Willis used Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations, or RICO, law to charge Trump and the 18 associates.
This law is typically associated with organized crime groups.
Bonnie Sard, a consultant with the Prosecutors' Center for Excellence, joined host Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday night to talk more about the indictment.
Sard formerly served as an assistant district attorney at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.
