A month after the June primary, the absentee ballot count process is complete. Several longtime members of the Assembly lost their seats to progressive insurgent candidates. That includes Zohran Mamdani, who joined Errol Louis to talk about his victory and plans for the district. Mamdani defeated Aravella Simotas for the 36th Assembly District, which includes parts of Astoria and Long Island City.
