Comedian Charlie Murphy, the older brother of Eddie Murphy, has died after a battle with leukemia.
Murphy died Wednesday in New York, according to his representative, Domenick Nati.
The Brooklyn native was known for his appearances on "Chappelle's Show" on Comedy Central.
He teamed up with his younger brother to write the films "Norbit'' and "Vampire in Brooklyn."
Murphy also voiced characters in the animated shows "The Boondocks" and "Black Jesus."
He will appear in episodes of the drama series "Power" later this year.
Charlie Murphy was 57 years old.
