The courthouses on the Lower East Side are well-known for being part of the backdrop to shows like “Law and Order.”

But now some of the actors who played victims on the show may also be victims themselves in a real life larceny scheme.

“This is yet another egregious example of bad bosses abusing their power to take advantage of hardworking New Yorkers,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.

On Tuesday, Bragg announced the indictment of Mark Measures, the owner of talent agency KMR.

Measures, who was arraigned in court earlier in the day, is accused of stealing nearly $2 million from clients and thousands of dollars more from his own staff.

The DA’s office presented multiple emails from clients asking for their money.

Measures is said to have, at first, given excuses for the delay in payments, eventually stopping communication.

“Not only did Measures allegedly steal $1.8 million, but he used the money to fund a lavish lifestyle while victims were repeatedly begging to be paid for the work they had completed,” Bragg said.

The talent agency would receive deposited checks to talent “in care of” the company.

The agency was to take a 10% commission and give the remaining funds to the talent, but the talent is said to have not received anything.

“If you are in Manhattan and are a bad boss abusing your power, we will hold you accountable,” Bragg said.

The DA’s office says the majority of the thefts are from residuals, which are hard to monitor.

Measures pleaded not guilty.
