The Elmwood Village Association has announced that their annual ArtFest will not continue moving forward. The event has taken place the past two years with local art displays and live entertainment at Bidwell Parkway.
They are planning a smaller-scale event for the same weekend and say that they remain committed to their existing summer programming, including Porchfest, the Bidwell Parkway Summer Concert Series and the Elmwood Village Farmers Market.
"The mission of the EVA has always been to promote the local arts community and add vibrancy to the Elmwood Village,” said Therese Deutschlander, president of the EVA’s Board of Directors. “ArtFest did exactly that and we’re excited to carry that momentum forward in new ways."
“We were thrilled to bring ArtFest to life and to see it resonate so strongly with the public,” said James Cichocki, executive director of the EVA. “In just two years, the festival grew beyond our expectations, which is a testament to the enthusiasm and talent in our community. While this growth presented new logistical challenges, we’re incredibly proud of what we accomplished and grateful for the support of everyone who participated.”
EVA officials said to expect more details on the new summer event soon, which they say "will offer a fun and engaging way to close out the summer."
